Collimare and Ralco Light-Field Repair
2026-09-06 · repair · collimator · Ralco
When the light field is gone, techs guess. Alignment, lamp, and shutter service on the collimators we actually see in Colorado rooms.
“Collimare light” and “Ralco light field repair” are the two collimator calls that show up on a Monday morning. The lamp is the cheap version of the story. Shutters, tapes, a failed timer, a loose mirror, or a collimator that was never aligned to the new tube are the rest of it.
A light field that does not match the X-ray field is a compliance problem, not a convenience. We align, replace lamps and related parts, and document the check so you have something to show an inspector — not a verbal “looks good.” Preventative maintenance is usually the right place to catch this before it becomes a Monday-morning down room.
This work almost always rides along with PM or a tube job. If the collimator is past parts, we quote a replacement that fits the housing you have.
