Glassless DR Panels: Why the Keyword Showed Up
2026-07-28 · glassless · DR · Fujifilm
Glass-free construction is showing up on Fujifilm D-EVO III, 20/20 glassless 14×17 mobiles, and other current cesium detectors. Here is what it changes in the field.
Glassless (glass-free) detectors remove the glass substrate in the TFT stack. The practical result is lower weight and better drop/flex durability in a cassette-sized housing. Fujifilm FDR D-EVO III is the premium example techs already praise for workflow.
Fujifilm FDR D-EVO III is the detector we spec into hospital, orthopedic, and imaging center trays. 20/20 Imaging and Konica Minolta also specify glassless 14×17 on some mobile packages. Rayence C-Series remains a cesium wireless play with IP-rated housings for wet rooms.
Glass-free construction does not change cassette size. A glassless 17×17 still needs a 17×17 tray; podiatry weight-bearing work stays on 10×12. Find your system or request a quote and we will size it on the consult.
